Pyrography
In the past year I have started a small cedar wood pyrography business. Clients commission certain artworks to be burned into the Bermuda cedarwood. i used Bermuda cedar for my protects as it is native to Bermuda and has a fragrance symbolic to many Bermudians. I have always had a love of physical artwork such as sculpting, modelling and woodwork and this has developed in my new found love of pyrography. Unpredictable wood shapes and grain patterns make producing what my client envisions as well as a beautiful piece of art difficult but intriguing .
Woodwork
I took Design technology in high school which first sparked my interest in architecture. I was allowed to experiment with different materials and various machinery to fully realize my whimsical designs. In G.C.S.E I designed a desk and chair for a 7 year old, so I designed and built an small fun donut desk. For my A.P. class I challenged myself to make a more kinetic piece with versatile uses. My client was a 17 year old with a love of reading. The design enabled her to store her books and a bench which could be pushed and and folded forward, it was a technical challenge but a fun project.
